Cape Cod Trip 2010
On May 11th, Thayercare clients and staff made their 2nd annual trip to Cape Cod. We were on the road at 7:30a.m. with 21 clients, and 8 staff loaded into 4 vans(24 clients and 5 staff stayed behind.) As planned, we made one rest stop about halfway and arrived at the Kreme N’ Kone at about 11:00a.m. for lunch. Everyone enjoyed their various meals of hot dogs, chicken, burgers, or fish.
Our next stop was the West Dennis Beach. The clients walked the beach and searched for shells. It was a bit windy, but many treasures were found. Billy walked bare-footed in the sand and tuck his feet in the cool ocean waters. Art found many shells, pieces of crabs, and a lobster claw. He smiled from ear to ear when he found each one. Judy found a collection of various shells to bring home.
After everyone had fun collecting, we got back in the vans and went to Cuffy’s clothing shop. A few people did some shopping for t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. At the end we took a quick group photo. Our next stop was Wings, a surf and souvenir shop. About 3:00p.m. we then headed to Dairy Queen for ice cream before getting on the road for the trip home.
We made one rest stop halfway home, then continued on. Several clients were dropped off at their homes, and the rest met family at Thayercare at 7:30p.m. Fun was had by all!Look for a photo-memory book of our trip in the future!

July Celebrations & Closings
In celebration of Independence Day, we will have patriotic music on July 2nd. Also, Thayercare will be closed on Monday, July 5th in observance of the holiday.

Winter Policies 2009-2010
As the Cold Weather approaches, I’d like to remind everyone of our policies.
1) If a client has a cold, sore throat, symptoms, or any other contagious disease, please stay home. We do our best to keep the germs down, but in a confined area with a lot of people, it’s not always possible.
2) We have a lot of people here, some with similar coats, so please be sure to put your name in yours to avoid confusion with another person’s coat.
3) Also, please carefully read our severe weather policy below.
Inclimate/Severe Weather Policy:
In order to keep everyone safe, Thayercare will close on days that the Hadley Public School System closes. In the event that it is school vacation, an announcement will be made on WHMP AM 1400 radio and a message will be placed on our answering machine.

Christmas Week
Our visit from Santa will be on December 23, and Christmas dinner will be on the 24th. We will be closed on December 25, and open on the 26th. HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
